I believe the art criticism process is to first describe and tell exactly what I see in the piece of art. Then, I would analyze the piece using the parts and elements that I can reflect on the art. I then would interpret the artist by seeing from their point of view and answer why they did this piece and what the meaning was behind the piece. I then finally would evaluate how important this piece of art work is. I would critique my work by answering those four questions to the art criticism process but I would also evaluate if it turned out how I wanted it to and if I am happy with my piece of artwork.
I decided to do my portrait of my dog because she is my favorite thing on this entire planet and she is also pretty easy to paint. The medium I did was acrylic paint. I chose this medium because with the acrylic paint I could use a dry brush effect to show the little details and different colors of her fur. By using this medium I was able to capture more of my dog's features rather than if I used any other medium.
